He saw the grin from Dysin and suspected something, glancing past him he saw the girl wipe away something from her cheek. He sighed, deciding to save questioning Dysin's last words to the girl for later.
"You may ride with me," he said to her, lifting her chin with a finger to look into her eyes, he smiled when he found them and removed the small clamps from her wings which stopped her from flying, he imagined the pain and mixed relief she would feel by being able to stretch them again, and also removed the collar before lifting her by the waist with ease up onto his horse. The boy saddled up his steed and then Johnathan mounted his. As he led them toward the gate, his thoughts returned to the goblin.
And as the exited the gates, the great black dragon gave a call, he guessed for the girl who had befriended it and once again felt a bit sad for her. His thoughts were quickly taken up, however by the goblin who had caught his attention earlier. His pulled his steed to a stop before the creature. It was true, unlike the other goblins, or the entire feeling of this small and ruined kingdom, he was kind.
"Greeting my dear goblin," he began, addressing the man on the ground. Johnathan, unlike the other fay did not hold the immediate dislike for goblins, he saw them as only fellow creatures of the coil, however darker and rather dirty compared to the fay. "Who are you? Why do you sit there so timid when others of your kind are busy grinding bones. Have you no means of evil to do this day?"
His question was rather negative, but he did not want to give trust where it was not deserved, and he was no fool. His trust would need to be earned by a goblin, as it had merely been given to the young fay behind him. However, as he gazed down at the man, his eyes were not cold, only inquisitive as he awaited a reply.

Gavin let out his breath as a prince of the fay adressed him. He was in utter shock. Searching for words he studdered out, "I am not like the others. I detest the others. they bring only destruction and desire only for themselves. I would love nothing more than to be of the fay. Unfortunately I was not served a good lot in life. This is my world and I must live in it, as disgusting and cruel as it may be." His confidence grew as he spoke about the distaste for his kind. He hadn't realized thathe had just defied Dysin's rule. No creature should speak ill of it's kind but he had perfect reason to in his eyes. It wasn't fair to him that things were the way they were.
Looking back to the beautiful fairy man he noticed a small fairy body behind him. It was a slave from Dysin's stables. Gavin thought about how wonderful she must feel. The ability to leave this land and journey afar with a fairy prince. It must have been her dream come true. It was actually a dream of his, perhaps not to be taken away by a fairy prince, but to become a fairy himself. It was fanciful but he stiil wished for that.

"Interesting, you must feel very strongly to speak out against your kind so boldly." He pause and pursed his lips a moment in thought, glancing off to the other goblins dotting the grim landscape. "I will pay you." he said finally, "I am taking this young lady to the palace, and the young lad here will soon be a swordsman. I will need someone else to feed and shoe the horses. If you learn the trade from my apprentice here, i will pay you to keep my company. In the mean time, perhaps we can find a way to turn a goblin into... a fairy." He looked at the goblin again, this time looking a bit more kind, and perhaps even a bit playful.
Though he was entirely serious about his offer, he would keep an eye on the goblin, find out if he was trustworthy. His apprentice tugged on his shirt, a bit worried. Johnathan only nodded to him with a smile, he knew what he was doing. If the goblin declined, he would keep his dreams in mind. Perhaps the kind prince could find a way for him, though he would not go to any far length to find it.
"So what will it be Sir Goblin? Grinding bones or feeding horses?" he smiled, almost smugly, but also kindly, his thoughts on the future and where his generosity might get him..be it a high throne or a low grave.

A wave of excitement rushed over Gavin. He was in utter shock that a fairy prince would speak to him much less offer him to be his companion. It was far too much for him to take in. he stared for a long time with wide, longing eyes. He wanted so badly to say yes. He wasn't sure if the prince was just messing with him though. He figured not since Johnathan was inface a fairy. He didn't think fairies would do such evil things. But still, his dreams were pure and precious to him. He wasn't too sure on taking that leap of faith.
Laying it all on the line for his dreams to either come true or be crushed, Gavin finally spoke up, "I would very much like that, sir. To become a fairy...well, that would be...amazing." His eyes were filling with tears of joy and to keep thtem from brimming over and disgrace himself, he breathed deeply and looked towards the now very bright and beautiful sky. It was like a light from the Heavens had shone down upon him. Getting his feel of the intense rapture he felt he looked back at the prince. The boy at Johnathan's side looked fearful. How Gavin wanted to assure the boy that he was harmless. He thought better of it though. Gavin knew that he would have to prove his worth to gain acceptance, if it were even possible. He knew that nothing would be handed over to him. In his mind, Gavin vowed to do just that. He had to.

"Well then come along," he said, "walk with us." though he and his apprentice were on horse back, he fully intended to have the goblin walk on foot beside them. Was it really wise to lead him all the way into the fairy palace? Of course it was! He was only going to lead him to the stables where the boy could tell the goblin of how to care for the horses. And leaving the boy alone with the creature did not cause him to fret either, for the boy could defend himself well. Should he not, then Gavin would face the hand of a champion swordsman, followed by the wrath of King Dorian. All those thoughts, however, were merely mandatory thoughts to have when one was dealing with a goblin.Johnathan had a feeling he would not need to show this young man the steel of his blade any time soon. So he put and end to the subject by sending his steed walking toward the gates out of this foreign Goblin world and onto the road toward Luminis City. ((Now gavin can either reply one more time here to close the thread, and/ or you can have him post in the "shopping" thread. Have him standing out with Johnathan waiting for the girls, or just skip right ahead and we'll start posting that the castle. Let me know what you'd like to do, so I know where to post next and who to post with, ))

(OOC: this can be the end of this one and they can be waiting for the girls.)
Gavin nodded and tried to force back the smile that had already reached his ears. He hoped that this was his chance to prove himself. He had to believe it was. All of these years and this was the opportunity he had wished for. His answer was yes before he could eventhink about it. He stepped to the side of Johnathan, his horse, and the boy. His excitement was not to be unseen. The obvious joy luminated his face. His hands shook at his sides due to the small bit of nerves that were overwhelmed. His eyes dark eyes were as light and pure as any fairy's. His dream was semi-coming true.
